Korission Lake

Korission Lake is located in the southwestern part of Corfu, 4 kilometers from Argyrades. The lagoon covers an area of 6,000 hectares of sand dunes and is a protected part of Natura Network. There are a few farm houses around the lake. You will also find a small forest at the point where the lake joins the sea, with cedars, lilies and many species of orchid on the sand.

There are several bird species in the area and this is why the area has been designated a Special Protection Area, as 126 bird species have been observed. There are cormorants, doves, silversmiths, flamingos, ducks and various butterflies which are attracted to the salt.
